A big thank you to the Wellness family for your generous donation from the loyalty programme. As you know Help the Rural Child Charity shops is a funding arm of the Goedgedacht Trust which runs a marvellous project called the Path out of Poverty Rural Youth Centres (POP). We would like you to know that your generous contribution has been ploughed right back into this very worthwhile cause.
A vital part of running the centres is feeding the children as they arrive after school. There are 3 youth centres at present which feed up to 589 children daily. It is very gratifying to know that these deserving children are being well looked after. The after school programme provides different activities each day and are always in need of stationery, books and access to computers. Your generosity has contributed greatly to further equipping the centres.
A very important part of these children's lives is access to toiletries which the centres try to provide. Giving children confidence and pride in their appearance goes a long way in winning the fight against poverty. I enjoyed watching two young girls washing their hands and seeing their delight as they smelled each other's hands afterwards -- little actions we all take for granted.

Another painless way of helping is by donating excess clothing, bric a brac and books to our charity shops. You can drop them at the Wellness stores or we will collect.
