Head Cook

Based at our Kloof store, with your strong staff management experience, expert cooking skills and food knowledge gained in a health, organic or upmarket deli environment, manage a team 12 Kitchen staff

Your responsibilities include: Oversee and manage kitchen team of 12 – rosters, leave, reporting of necessary disciplinary action when required * Stock control – stock rotation, manage stock holding, stock storage and stock issues, assist with regular stock-take procedures * Ordering - food, beverage and non food items * Manage inter department transfers and issuing of stock items *Supplier and service provider relationships – develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and service providers * Cook and prepare food across different sections – salads, wraps, sandwiches, smoothies, juices, a la carte dishes and buffet * Quality control of food and food preparation standards * Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen * Maintain kitchen equipment in effective working order * Trouble shoot potential problems and issues before they escalate * Run weekly kitchen staff meetings together with Cafe Manager

For this you will require: • 3-5 years working in kitchen environment • Chef's course or food preparation diploma advantageous • Ability to work across a number of different departments in a kitchen environment• Able to work with different cultures on different levels • Ability and willingness to multi task• Ability to handle pressure and attention to detail.

You will be required to work from Mondays to Saturdays, 7am to 5pm, with some occasional additional hours based on the nature and demands of the business.

Café Manager
Based at our Kloof store, with your strong staff management experience, coupled with your food knowledge gained in a health, organic or upmarket deli environment, manage a team 12-15 including Baristas, Café and Kitchen staff.

You will need to take control of ordering and purchases control, stock management, facilities management, customer service and relationship management, reporting, staff- management, -recruiting and –training; customer service training and housekeeping.

For this you will require: • extensive experience in managing different levels of staff • strong customer service skills • experience on GAAP point of sale system (front of house and back office) • at least 3 – 5 years' experience in a related hospitality management position • back of house administration ability • understanding of food cost. A senior certificate will be advantageous, coupled with kitchen management and food preparation experience.

You furthermore have high energy levels, and possess the ability to multi-task and remain confident and calm under pressure.

You will be required to work from Mondays to Saturdays, 8am to 6pm, with some occasional additional hours, based on the nature and demands of the business.
