We are looking for an experienced PR & community manager to our growing marketing team. If you are a tech-savvy professional, experienced in social media, PR and promotional events, we would love to meet you.

You will need to have a broad understanding of the South African media landscape and have experience in traditional PR. Customer relations:

  • Using appropriate measurement tools to provide reports on metrics and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives

Reporting:

  • Analyse the effectiveness of social activities to evolve the marketing plan.
  • Monitors and measures the success of community engagement and provides monthly reports complete with actionable insights
  • Tracks KPIs related to PR / Social goals such as recruitment, retention or outreach goals
  • An analytical mind and interest in using data to optimise marketing strategies and tactics

This position will perform a key role in the development and execution of all trade marketing activities to provide the marketing and merchandising teams with the necessary support to grow the Wellness Warehouse brand.

Key regions of focus include, but are not limited to Cape Town, Johannesburg & Pretoria.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Marketing (Planning and Implementation):

  • Develop and execute trade marketing plans to support both existing and new stores.
  • Collaborate with marketing & merchandising teams for the planning & budgeting, production and implementation of all in store activities, including point of sale materials, in store signage, on shelf material, windows and table presentation, merchandising and promotions.
  • Collaborate with marketing & merchandising teams to build sales promotions and product communication.
  • Engage store managers to ensure key account plans are implemented.
  • Ensure excellence in execution at point of purchase and retail shelf level.
  • Identify category plans including range and merchandise proposals.

  • Ownership of merchandising in store – adherence to high standards of merchandising across all Wellness Warehouse stores at a national level as per brand guidelines and supplier expectations.
  • Ensure that the visual merchandising in stores is aligned to the retail marketing calendar and that all promotional and and product themes are highlighted and showcased.
  • Identify category plans including range and merchandise proposals.
  • On / off shelf merchandising and displays: assembling or dismantling visual displays in windows or in-store.

Brand Education and Insights:

  • Assist external suppliers with events, collaborations & PR activities from setup to strike down as well as related ad hoc requirements ongoing benchmarking with competing brands concepts.
  • Maintain knowledge and execution of industry best practices for in-store marketing as well as performing.
  • Carry out comparison / mystery shops to maintain awareness of other retailers’ visual merchandising.
  • Frequently engage store managers to understand consumers and customer needs.
  • Determine consumer research needs and use insights to shape brand and activity plans.
  • Ensure that the on the ground feedback is taken into account by regularly visiting stores and speaking to managers, sales teams, and customers.
  • Provide marketing team with insights and visual evidence of current market and consumer trends based on trade visits.
  • Build e-mail and customer loyalty experiences at retail level.

Requirements:

  • Marketing/advertising/commercial/PR degree/diploma preferred.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
  • Required to travel nationally at least 10 days per month.
  • Experience in strategic planning including events coordination minimum 3 years.
