Think again about buying astringent, chemical laden, facial cleansers when you can revert to your kitchen pantry for all natural products that will do the job. Your skin is the largest organ in the body and should be protected from harsh elements at all costs. HoneyRaw Honey is the perfect ingredient for a homemade, all natural, face cleanser. With natural anti-bacterial properties and containing natural probiotics, Honey will reduce oil and bacteria on the skin. It is gentler than soap and contains beneficial enzymes. To cleanse the skin, massage a teaspoon of raw honey into the skin and then rinse with warm water.
Coconut OilCoconut oil is a naturally moisturising cleanser. Coconut oil can eliminate the oily shine left on your face at the end of the day. It has anti-microbial properties, which will remove moisture lost through the pores. Use a teaspoon or 2 to massage gently all over the face for about 30 seconds. Rinse with warm water.
Avocado OilRaw Organic Avocado Oil is an excellent base for any facial cleanser. More importantly, it can be mixed with lemon for a more astringent cleanser or oats for a facial scrub. Natural oils used to cleanse the skin bind to the oils already on the skin and removes the impurities when rinsed off.
Baking Soda is an excellent base for a natural facial skin exfoliator. Can be used to remove dead skin and keep pores clear. Use a 50:50 ratio of baking soda and water or baking soda and your favourite oil. Massage into the skin for one or two minutes and then gently wipe away with a wet cloth.
Lemon is a natural exfoliate and disinfectant, skin and hair brightener. Create a natural mask by boiling a sweet potato. When cooled mash and add lemon juice. Apply, leave on for 20 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
