Actor, model and health enthusiast Marc Buckner shares how he reduces stress and repairs his adrenals with adaptogenic herbs.
For many years I have combined certain herbs for stress management, better sleep, increased energy levels and an overall better physique. I am particularly fond of adaptogenic herbs, as they help the body adapt and heal in order to perform optimally.
Adaptogens help our bodies deal with the excess cortisol that is released through stress, which can lead to adrenal fatigue. Cortisol is a stress hormone that is released as a result of the ‘fight or flight’ response. Though cortisol does have many benefits, it can cause numerous issues when released constantly.
Simply put, adaptogens help us adapt to the environment that we are in.
