We all want healthy, glowing skin. Does that have to mean slathering on harsh chemicals, though? We asked three of our WellSkin skin experts how to get glowing, healthy, skin without doing any harm ' to yourself or the planet.
Lauren, somatologist What's your number one natural skincare tip? The best way to get healthy skin is to use the right products prescribed by a skincare specialist. It's important to take care of your skin from the inside, too. Always take a multivitamin, Omega-3s, and supplement with an antioxidant to combat free radical damage that can cause ageing. This will keep your skin looking great. What makes you truly beautiful? True beauty radiates from the inside out. A warm heart and beaming personality will always be beautiful. What's the question you're asked most often by clients? Clients want to know whether products are tested on animals. They are often concerned about the environment and I'm proud to say Wellness Warehouse supports products that are earth- and animal-friendly. What natural beauty product can't you live without? I can't live without the Radiance range by Nourish. Nourish is a new brand that's just been introduced to WellSkin. Its main ingredient is the tonka bean and it illuminates the skin naturally. The entire Radiance range is a great pick-me-up for dull skin. Zaahida, skincare therapist What's your number one natural skincare tip? Make sure you always cleanse, exfoliate, moisturise, and tone (if you need or prefer to) with products of natural origin. Choosing pure and natural products will help nourish your skin without doing any harm. Harsh chemicals can strip the skin of its natural oils. What makes you truly beautiful? If you feel healthy and vibrant, your skin will reflect it. If you feel balanced in your mind and body, your skin will feel balanced, too. This will give you a beautiful, healthy glow. What's the question you're asked most often by clients? Clients often ask me what the best skincare range is and how it will improve the health of their skin. I believe in natural skincare so my advice is to look for products that are, in particular, free from parabens. This will help them boost, repair and improve their skin without harm. What natural beauty product can't you live without? Nourish is a beautiful skincare range that's naturally organic and extracted from the most natural ingredients possible. Because I have very sensitive skin, finding the right products can be a challenge. Nothing has calmed and soothed my skin like Nourish's Relax range. did you know? Somatology is a multidisciplinary science. Most somatologists are trained in a number of different types of massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, and manual lymph drainage. Zandie, skincare therapist <="" p=""> What's your number one natural skincare tip? Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated and get plenty of rest. I can see immediately if my clients are tired and dehydrated. Once you've taken care of those basics, make sure you cleanse, exfoliate, tone and moisturise (especially in winter!). Also, always wear sunscreen ' there are some great natural brands out there. What makes you truly beautiful? The most beautiful people I have ever met are happy and full of love and life. Beauty is a glow that comes from the inside. What's the question you're asked most often by clients? My clients are concerned about ageing. I tell them to stick with natural skincare and to take care of their health. Eating well is also very important. What natural beauty product can't you live without? I couldn't live without Dr Hauschka. I used to have trouble with oily skin until I had a Dr Hauschka facial and I never looked back. My favourite product is the Normalizing Day Oil. People tend to be afraid of using oils, but there's one for almost every client. Acupuncture for ageing? According to Sarah Stacey and Josephine Fairley, authors of The Anti-Ageing Beauty Bible, acupuncture is an excellent natural anti-ager. They say it lifts the eyes, removes puffiness, improves dry skin and may even stimulate collagen production by improving blood flow. Sarah and Josephine also suggest trying the ancient Chinese art of cupping to increase blood flow, defining facial features. Natural skincare ESSENTIALS Wellness Slow Release Vitamin C 1,000mg Antioxidants, which fight the free radicals that cause ageing, are an essential part of your beauty arsenal. The body can't produce vitamin C, so it's important to get it from other sources. Solgar Flax Seed Oil Flax seed oil is a vegetarian source of Omega-3 fatty acids.
