Ear candling can be done by yourself, however it is better to have a diagnostic assessment with a practitioner prior to doing the procedure so that the anatomy of the ears is established and any pathology in the ears is determined with an assessment and examination of the ears, nose and throat system. I do not recommend ear candling for anyone who has a history of cancer, whether it be benign or malignant, as cancer cells can be ‘woken up’ again. An ear infection should be treated first prior to ear candling, and depending on the presence of a high pain threshold, an individual may not be aware there is an ear infection present!
Already a number of clients have contacted me to say that they did not find the procedure effective when performed by themselves - once these clients were seen and the correct approach was determined from a primary health care aspect, as each individual is different, and the technique applied correctly, although simple enough, greater results were achieved. Clients do say that they feel more relaxed with it being done by a practitioner as working with fire can be a bit nerve wracking to say the least! Are you aware that the body undergoes detoxification for 2 weeks after the correct ear candling technique is applied, and that this can affect the whole body?
Good luck - I wish you well!
