Thank you for your question regarding your request for a multivitamin.

A multivitamin is always an important supplement, especially when you are not eating meat, fish or eggs.

However, please check your iron levels as this may be the very reason for your tiredness. It is important to do a full blood count as a marker for your tiredness.You do not mention stress, but adrenal fatigue, body aches etc could also contribute towards your tiredness.Even a Thyroid check may assist.

Thank you for your question and your clinical picture.

The first thing you need to do is to work towards having your hormonal cycle regulated. I recommend AGNUS CASTUS, a herb which will help your hormonal cycle to fall back into sync, and should assist in helping to regulate your ovulation process.

You also have a fluid imbalance due to your erratic menstrual flow. This can be effectively treated with Nat Mur tissue salts number 9. Nat Mur can be taken as x3 celloids (tablets) 3 times a day, 10 - 15 minutes in a clean mouth before meals. Both Agnus Castus and Nat Mur will not interfere with each other, and they will work parallel together with other medications if need be. There are no side effects and are cost effective. Do this for at least 3 - 4 weeks.

Once the above has come right, you can commence a multivitamin like CHELA PREG by Arctic as x1 tablet daily after breakfast; and an omega supplement like EQUAZEN by Arctic as x1 capsule after supper. These 2 products will provide your baby with healthy brain, muscle and nerve tissue. There are many questions already answered on supplements for pre pregnancy etc. under conception and fertility which you are welcome to peruse on the question and answer panel.

Yes it is possible to overdose on some vitamins. Vitamins B and C are water soluble and are not toxic. If taken in excess the extra vitamin is passed out of the body in urine (VERY expensive urine!). Vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluble and these are toxic in excess. In addition many supplements contain minerals which can be toxic in doses exceeding the RDA (recommended daily allowance).

The RDA gives an indication of the correct dosage of vitamins and minerals which will depend on age, size and mass. You can find an up to date RDA guideline on the internet.

As a general rule take a good multivitamin/mineral at the recommended dose as well as an omega supplement. Different people have different requirements and so may need additional supplements. These should be prescribed specifically as part of a plan. Taking too many different supplements can cause potential interactions or toxicity.
