Thank you for your question. I do not advise an aggressive form of "colon cleanse" that your refer to in your question. It is too harsh on the body, and prevents your body from learning how to naturally balance out your bowel movement itself. When I recommend psyllium husk to my clients I usually recommend a heaped teaspoon of the loose psyllium husk with a glass of water before bed followed by another glass of water. This regime should continue for at least three to six months but often goes on for longer. This slow-and-steady approach does not shock or stress your digestive system and provides a gentle healing stimulus instead of the heavy handed approach you refer to.
So to answer you I would recommend using 1-2 capsules or 1 teaspoon of psyllium husk before bed over a longer period of time than only for a short cleanse program.
