With summer around the corner, now is the time to get your summer body ready. A fun-filled, productive workout regime will help you get there more quickly. Here are some tips on how to eat before and after exercising.
One of our favourite workout drinks (add it before, during or after) is coconut water. Not only is coconut water utterly delicious, but it's packed with nutrients and essential substances to help sustain your body when working out. ENERGY BOMB Packed with superfoods, this is a fabulous post-workout snack. It's extremely easy to make and will replenish your body after a strenuous workout. INGREDIENTS: 250ml Coco Fina coconut water (restores electrolytes and minerals that have been lost through sweating) ' 2 Tbsp Hemp Seeds (high plant based protein source to help repair muscles) ' 1 small banana (will help prevent cramps as is high in potassium which helps the repair process) ' 1 pinch Pink Himalayan Salt (helps rehydrate the body after sweating out important minerals and salts) ' 1 Tbsp coconut oil (great for an extra energy boost and for immune system support) ' 1 Tbsp macadamia/almond nut butter (high in healthy fats essential for energy and vitamin absorption) ' 2 Tbsp coconut shavings (high in fibre and healthy fat) ' 2 tsp raw organic cocoa powder (high in iron, magnesium and calcium) METHOD: 1. Place all ingredients into a blender, food processor or smoothie maker and combine. 2. Pour into a tall long glass and serve.
