Description

Truefood High Oleic Sunflower oil is a non-volatile oil that has an impressive range of essential fatty acids which includes palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid, these all have vital roles in maintaining a healthy body. Sunflower oil is compressed from the seeds of the Helianthus annuus plant, which is native to North America, there is evidence of the sunflowers being utilised by Native Americans from about 3000BC. With some archeologists suggesting that the sunflower was cultivated before corn. The seed was ground to make flour, it was used as a textile dye and as a body paint. Sunflower oil maintains a good ratio of LDL/ HDL cholesterol and it is a source of Omega 6 that benefits heart health, it is also anti-inflammatory, an antioxidant and anti-aging. High oleic sunflower oil neutralizes free radicals within the body and with ample levels of Vitamin E, it can improve the appearance of skin and regenerate cells further to boosting immunity and preventing asthma. With B Vitamins, sunflower oil boosts energy levels and maintains a healthy nervous system.
