EXFOLIATOR
The skin undergoes a natural cell turnover process, continuously generating new cells that rise to the surface and gradually shed to make way for the next new cells. As we age, the cell turnover process slows down, with older cells taking longer to slough off the surface and resulting in dry, rough or blemish-prone skin. Gently exfoliating your skin helps to remove the old cells and debris and reveal the younger and fresher-looking skin below. It can also improve the penetration of other skincare products like moisturisers and serums.

Avalon Organics Wrinkle Therapy Perfecting Toner SERUM Facial serums are becoming a staple in recommended daily skincare regimes. A serum is a lightweight moisturiser that penetrates deeper than your traditional moisturiser to deliver active ingredients into the skin. By leaving out many of the heavier ingredients found in traditional moisturisers, facial serums contain a much higher proportional concentration of active ingredients. Using a good serum regularly can assist in giving your skin a firmer, smoother texture, making your pores appear smaller and increasing your daily moisture levels.

EYE CREAM
Eye creams are formulated specifically for the delicate skin around the eyes, so they tend to be thicker than traditional moisturisers. They contain more oil than regular facial cream and can have a lot of active ingredients aimed at the problems we see around the eyes. The skin around the eyes is more fragile, more prone to dryness, and quicker to show age and fatigue. Squinting and constant movement of the eyes also hasten the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and fluids collect under the eyes and cause puffiness and dark circles. Using an eye cream can help address some of these issues.

- HYDRATING avocado and grapeseed
- SOOTHING lavender and rose geranium
- BALANCING bitter orange
- BRIGHTENING vitamin C

MOISTURISER
Dermatologists recommend using a facial moisturiser as part of your daily skincare routine. Cleansing the face removes dead skin cells, dirt and bacteria, but it can also strip the skin of necessary hydration. Water in the skin keeps it plump and smooth, whereas dry skin loses elasticity, making it more prone to wrinkles. Facial moisturisers lock in this water by either blocking it from escaping from the outermost layer of skin (occlusive moisturisers) or drawing water from the inner dermis toward the top of the skin (humectant moisturisers).

SUN PROTECTION
Sunscreen protects your skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays. UVA rays are most commonly associated with skin ageing, causing fine lines, wrinkles and age spots that make skin look prematurely older. UVB rays are the ones most commonly associated with sunburns. Both UVA and UVB rays are carcinogenic (cancercausing), which is why you should invest in a sunscreen that offers broad-spectrum protection against both types.
