Sleepy Girl Mocktail

The sleep-supporting drink currently taking the wellness scene by storm.

The Sleepy Girl Mocktail has become a viral sensation, captivating social media users with its promise of a delicious yet effective sleep aid.

Introduced to the online world in January 2023 by influencer Calee Shea, it gained widespread recognition after being championed by the renowned influencer Gracie Norton.

At its core, it is a homemade elixir designed to promote relaxation and improve sleep quality. The primary ingredients are tart cherry juice and magnesium powder, both popular for their potential sleep-enhancing properties.

For the base, you can use either frozen sour cherry juice concentrate (Frut has a great option) or pure juice concentrate (try Just Pure Health’s) diluted with water to achieve the desired tartness and then poured over ice.

Next comes the addition of magnesium powder, beloved by many for its sleep-inducing qualities. Selecting a high-quality magnesium source is paramount (we love Nature Fresh's Calcium and Magnesium Complex or Sally Ann Creed's Magnesium Citrate Powder). Careful attention should be paid to dosage, as excessive consumption could lead to digestive discomfort.

While the basic recipe calls for only cherry juice and magnesium powder, many enthusiasts opt to customise their mocktails by incorporating flavoured sodas or soda water for added zest.

It is, of course, important to remember that reliance on a single beverage as a solution for sleep issues may overlook underlying factors requiring more comprehensive interventions. That said, we have joined the leagues of fans of this natural drink as an addition to a holistic approach to improving sleep hygiene.
